Women's Soccer Downed by No. 19 Cal, 2-0

CORVALLIS, Ore. - A pair of second-half goals by No. 19 California doomed the Oregon State women's soccer team as the Beavers fell to the Golden Bears, 2-0, in action at Paul Lorenz Field on Sunday. With the loss, Oregon State falls to 8-4-1 on the year, 0-2-0 in league play, while California improves to 8-3-1, 2-0-0.
After a scoreless first half, Cal managed to get on the board in the 61st minute on a goal by Katrin Omarsdottir. Off a pass from Camellia Senemar, Omarsdottir fired a shot from 10 yards out into the lower right-hand corner of the net to give the Bears the lead.
Cal added an insurance goal in the 79th minute as Alex Morgan took a pass from Lisa Kevorkian and found the back of the net to make the score 2-0.
Oregon State was unable to chip into the lead the rest of the way as Rosie Aguilera made one save in goal to net the victory.
For the contest, Oregon State held a 10-8 edge in shots as Cal held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Oregon State will return to action on Friday, Oct. 16, when the Beavers host Oregon in the Civil War Series at 7:30 p.m.
