Men's Golf Prepares For Upcoming Isleworth Collegiate Invitational
Oct. 19, 2009
The men's golf team, who recently moved into second place in two prominent NCAA golf polls, will look to build on their early success October 25-27 after beginning the 2009-10 season with two strong showings.
The second-ranked Sun Devils are set to compete in the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational, their third tournament of the young season. Hosted by Texas Tech, the three-day event will take place on the 7,544, par-72 Isleworth course at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Fla. Arizona State tied for fourth in 2005 and 16th in 2007, the only two times they have played in the three-round contest.
Juniors Scott Pinckney and Jesper Kennegard, and seniors Knut Borsheim, Braxton Marquez and Tristan Bierenbroodspot fill out the line-up for the upcoming invitational. Pinckney, Kennegard, Borsheim and Bierenbroodspot all played in the previous two tournaments this season. Marquez is making his second appearance of the season after finishing tied for 36th in the PING/Golfweek Preview.
The first round begins at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 25, with the Sun Devils teeing off against No. 3 Washington and No. 5 Stanford. Live scoring of the entire three-day event can be found at www.golfstat.com.
