Cougars Travel to Last Tournament of Fall Season

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State men's golf team will finish out the fall season Monday and Tuesday when it travels to the 2009 Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, Oct. 26-27 at the par-72, 7,074-yard NMSU Golf Course...teams will play 36 holes Monday and 18 holes during Tuesday's final round with the action teeing off with a shotgun start each day at 8 a.m.
The Field: The 17-team field will include Air Force, Boise State, Idaho, Illinois State, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico State, North Texas, Rhode Island, Santa Clara, Texas State, UNLV, UTEP, Washington State, and Western New Mexico.
This Event Last Year: WSU finished in a three-way tie for sixth place at the 2008 Herb Wimberly...Austin Hurt led the way finishing in a tie for seventh at one-under par...Tucker and Ellis also earned top-25 finishes, ending the event in 17th and 23rd, respectively.
Last Time Out: Frame led the Cougars to a second-place finish at Georgetown Intercollegiate last week...the freshman won the event, marking the third member of the WSU squad to do so this season... Sanders ended the tournament in a tie for ninth to give him his second top-10 finish through five events this season... Junior Nick Ellis posted the lowest score for the Cougars during the final round which helped him earn his second top-25 finish of the season and the 16th of his career, tying him for eight on the WSU all-time list...Tucker finished with a share of 20th, tying Ryan Camp for fourth on the WSU career top-25 list.
