UW Heads To Isleworth Collegiate Invitational

WINDERMERE, Fla. - The Washington Husky men's golf team will compete against some of the other top golf programs around the country starting Sunday, Oct. 25 at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational. The three-round tournament will be held at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Windermere, Fla.
Seven of the 15 teams in the field are ranked among the top 10 nationally, including top-ranked Oklahoma State. Arizona State (2/2), Illinois (3/6), Washington (4/3), TCU (5/8), Stanford (6/5) and Florida (10/11) are ranked in the latest Golfweek/Golfstat polls. South Carolina (12/9) and Alabama (15/20) rank among the top 15, while tournament host Texas Tech (22/23), Clemson (23/22) and Georgia (24/24) round out the programs in the top 25. Traditional golf powers East Tennessee State, UCF and Kentucky complete the field.
Washington is led by All-American Nick Taylor, who already has three top-10 finishes in the Huskies' previous three tournaments. He leads UW with a 71.6 strokes per round average. All-American Richard Lee, Chris Killmer, Tze Huang Choo and Jens Bracht round out the lineup for Washington.
The teams will partake in a practice round on Saturday and tee times will be on Sunday through Tuesday, starting at 8:00 a.m. all days. Fans can follow live scoring by clicking here.
OTHER HUSKY NOTES: Alex Prugh is 28th after two rounds of the Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island, South Carolina. He shot a 4-under 68 on Friday and is 2-under overall.
The event is not only the final one of the season, but the most important one. On Sunday, 25 PGA TOUR cards for 2010 will be awarded to the Nationwide Tour's leading money winners. The leading money winner is fully exempt on the PGA TOUR in 2010 and earns a spot in THE PLAYERS Championship.
The other top-25 money winners are exempt on the PGA TOUR in 2010.
Currently, Prugh is 14th on the money list.
