And sophomore transfer Ryan Smith (Prineville, Ore.) is 20th at 165 pounds. Kubec, Jack and Smith all are 2009 NCAA Qualifiers with Smith competing for Oklahoma.
While most single-meets are $7 per ticket, the one exception is the Endowment Fund Meet and Beavers’ season opener on Sunday, Nov. 22 against No. 9 Boise State and No. 11 Wisconsin beginning at 1:00 p.m. in legendary Gill Coliseum.
Tickets for this special meet are $10 with 100 percent of the ticket sales going back into the endowment. The Beavers will honor all of Oregon State’s National Champion wrestlers by unveiling banners before the Wisconsin dual. And before the Boise State match up, the induction of Robin Reed and Les Gutches into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame will be celebrated.
Last season, the Beavers finished 10-8 in dual meets and 4-3 in legendary Gill Coliseum. The team sent four to the NCAA Championships, producing the program’s 83rd All-America honor in Heinrich Barnes at 149 pounds.
