Stanford Finishes Third at the Isleworth Intercollegiate

WINDEMERE, Fla. - Stanford shot a final round 299 today to finish third at the Isleworth Intercollegiate held at the Isleworth Country Club in Windemere, Fla.
The Cardinal's final 54-hole score of 888 trailed first place Oklahoma State (881) by seven shots and second place Florida (886) by two shots in one of the strongest fields of the fall calendar which featured seven of the nation's top 10 teams.
Stanford junior Sihwan Kim fired a final round 68 for a 54-hole total of 212 (70-74-68) to finish second in the individual competition, one stroke behind medalist Bud Cauley of Alabama (69-70-72; 211).
After shooting even par on the front side, Kim birdied holes 10, 12, 14 and 16 to shoot 32 on the back nine for a brilliant closing round of 68.
Junior Steve Ziegler began the final round in third place but slipped back to 19th after a closing round 81 today for a final total of 223. He was eight-over par on the front side and shot a 37 on the back for a final round 81.
Sophomore David Chung made a big move on the leader board today, moving up 33 spots to tie for 29th after a final round of 68. Chung had five birdies and one bogey on his card.
Freshman Andrew Yun, who began the day tied for ninth place, shot a final round 82 to tie for 33rd at 228.
Senior Jordan Cox finished 72nd with a score of 246 on rounds of 81, 81 and 85.
Stanford will close out the fall portion of its schedule at CordeValle Intercollegiate, Nov. 9-11 in San Martin, Calif.
