Men's Soccer Regular-Season Finale Moved to Nov. 14
Oct. 29, 2009
SEATTLE - The Washington men's soccer regular-season finale against Oregon State has been moved to Saturday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. The game was previously scheduled for Nov. 13.
The game has been moved due to a potential conflict with NCAA Women's Soccer First and Second Rounds. The Husky women's team will finish its regular season one week prior and may have the opportunity to host the first two rounds at Husky Soccer Field. The first and second round games would take place Friday, Nov. 13 and Sunday, Nov. 15 if the Huskies were chosen to host.
The men's game on Nov. 14 could determine whether the Huskies advance to the NCAA Tournament. UW is currently 4-5-4 overall and 1-1-3 in Pac-10 play, where they sit fourth in the standings. With five games remaining - three of which are at home - the Huskies still have a chance to advance to the tournament. They have earned key points in Pac-10 play with draws against conference-leading UCLA, second-place San Diego State and third-place Stanford and have also defeated California, which was ranked No. 5 in the nation at the time of the match.
The UW men are at home this weekend when they host Cal on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. and No. 18 Stanford on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.
