Oct. 30, 2009

BERKELY--The Arizona soccer team lost 2-0 to California Friday night.

The Cats (4-12-1, 1-5-0) were outshot 16-6 by the Bears (9-7-1, 3-4-0). Sophomore Renae Cuellar led Arizona with 2 shots for the night.

Red shirt senior Devon Wharf has six saves on the night, five in the second half.

'Devon had a really solid game tonight,' Said co-head coach Lisa Oyen, 'And a few really good saves. We were able to regroup well after Cal made their first goal, and there were quite a few good opportunities tonight. Now we just have to move on and look toward Sunday's match. It's going to be a very difficult test, but that's just the thing that our girls need.'

Up next, the Wildcats will go up against No. 1 Stanford Sunday November 1st at 1pm.
