Women's Golf in 18th at Turtle Bay Invitational

KAHUKU, Hawai'i -
The Oregon State women's golf team is in 18th place following the opening round of play Monday at the Turtle Bay College Invitational hosted by the University of Hawai'i.
On Monday, the first day of the three day tournament, teams played 18 holes at the Turtle Bay Resort on the George Fazio Course, a par-72, 6,261-yard course.
Leading the way for the Beavers was junior Cara Freeman, who recovered from a rough front nine to record a 1-under 35 on the back side.
Sophomore Whitney French and freshman Chelsey Lind, who is in the lineup for the first time as a collegian, each shot 6-over-78 to tie for 62nd. Seniors Brittany Stewart and Lauren Archer tallied matching 83's.
The Beavers' opening round total of 314 has them in 18th place in the early going.
Second round play begins Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. Hawai'i time. Fans can follow the live scoring at golfstat.com or hawaiiathletics.com.
