Collymore, Hagglund Named Academic All-District

SEATTLE - For the third time in her career, senior Jill Collymore was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII Team, and junior Jenna Hagglund earned her second-straight honor it was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Collymore, a Bellevue, Wash. native, picked up her second First Team distinction and will now be up for Academic All-America honors once again. Collymore was a third-team Academic All-American last season. She has played in all 21 matches for the Huskies, starting all but one, and ranks second on the team with 3.21 kills per set. She also leads the team in service aces and is second in the Pac-10 with 35. A double honors major in psychology and digital arts, Collymore currently sports a 3.77 cumulative grade point average.
Hagglund, hailing from West Chester, Ohio, now ranks third on Washington's all-time assists list, with 3,586. She is fifth in the Pac-10 currently with 11.10 per set and has directed UW's offense to a league-best .301 hitting percentage. Hagglund was a first-teamer last year, and boasts a 3.51 cumulative GPA majoring in business administration with a marketing focus.
Hagglund and Collymore will lead the fourth-ranked Huskies against fifth-ranked Stanford this Friday night at 7 p.m. in a crucial Pac-10 battle. Washington will then host No. 13 Cal on Saturday, also at 7 p.m.
