Five In Double-Figures As Stanford Routs Sonoma State 82-61 In Exhibition

STANFORD, Calif.- Senior Landry Fields poured in a game-high 15 points to lead five Cardinal players in double-figures as Stanford routed Sonoma State 82-61 in an exhibition game at Maples Pavilion on Friday night.
Stanford shot 50 percent overall, connected on 10-20 attempts from beyond the arc and outrebounded Sonoma State 43-22. The Cardinal dished out 22 assists and forced the Seawolves into 20 turnovers.
Stanford coasted to a 47-30 halftime lead and hung on despite Sonoma State shooting 51.2 percent from the field.
The Cardinal built its first double-digit advantage seven minutes into the contest, going up 20-10 following a lay-up from Mann.
Leading 30-25, Stanford ended the first half on a 17-5 scoring run that spanned the last five minutes.
The lead swelled to a game-best 35 points, when a three-pointer from Mann at the 9:19 mark of the second half gave Stanford a 74-39 cushion.
Stanford opens the season on Friday, Nov. 13, at San Diego.
