Lim Leads Trojans At Gifford Collegiate

Sophomore Steve Lim wrapped up his second straight strong round and is tied for seventh overall, leading the USC men's golf team on the second day of the 2009 Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle on Tuesday (Nov. 10) in San Martin, Calif.

USC is in eighth at 5-under 715 (353-362). Stanford is in first at 16-under 704 (354-350) while Oklahoma State is tied with Duke in second (705) while UCLA is fourth (709).

Lim followed a 70 on Monday with a 3-under 69 Tuesday to go to 5-under 139. His second round included six birdies against three bogeys.

Junior Daniel Park (70-75) and freshmen Sam Smith (70-75) and Martin Trainer (72-73) are tied for 37th at 1-over 145. Trainer and Smith each eagled the 15th hole. Trainer eagled the hole Monday while Smith eagled the 6th hole Monday.

Freshman T.J. Vogel rebounded from an off-first round with a 2-under 70 to move up into a tie for 43rd at 2-over 146 (76-70) while junior Bo DeHuff is tied for 52nd at 3-over 147 (71-76).
