Upcoming Schedule
Stanford will play seven games during the month of November over a span of 17 days. For the first two weeks, the Cardinal will enjoy only seven off-days. Stanford continues its homestand against Oral Roberts (Nov. 18) and Florida A&M (Nov. 21) as part of the Cancun Challenge. Stanford will be playing regular season games outside the United States for the first time since 2000, when the Cardinal defeated Old Dominion, Memphis and Georgia en route to capturing the Puerto Rico Shootout. Grouped in the Riviera Division, Stanford will face Virginia (Nov. 24) in its first game in Cancun. Stanford's second game in Cancun (Nov. 25) will feature a matchup against either Kentucky or Cleveland State. The month wraps up with a contest against Portland State on Nov. 29.

Scouting Cal Poly

  • Cal Poly closed out the 2008-09 campaign with a 7-21 overall record and a 3-13 mark in Big West play, finishing last in the standings.
  • The Mustangs fell 73-62 at San Francisco in their season opener on Friday, shooting just 35.8 percent overall while Jordan Lewis was the only player in double-figure scoring with 10 points.
  • Cal Poly plays its first five games of the year on the road. In fact, seven of its first 10 contests are away from home.

    Stanford All-Time vs. Cal Poly
    Stanford owns a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series. Cal Poly posted a 79-61 win in the first meeting back on Nov. 27, 1976, but Stanford has since won four in a row. Stanford has hosted all five matchups. The teams last hooked up on Nov. 28, 2005, at Maples Pavilion with Stanford claiming an 82-58 triumph.

    Stanford In Home Openers
    In its 94-year history, the Cardinal owns a 78-16 record in home openers. Stanford has won three straight home openers (103-85 vs. Cal State Northridge in 2008, 111-56 vs. Harvard in 2007 and 92-72 vs. Siena in 2006) since a 79-63 loss to UC Irvine to kick off the 2005 campaign. The Cardinal is 35-6 all-time in home openers played at Maples Pavilion.

    Home Sweet Home
    Stanford owned a 14-4 record at home in 2008-09 and reached the 10-win mark at Maples Pavilion for the 16th consecutive year with a 77-55 win over Oregon back on Jan. 22. In 2007-08, the Cardinal set a record for home victories (16) in a single season. Additionally, the Cardinal is 30-5 in its last 35 home games dating back to the start of last year.
