Locker Climbing Several UW Record Charts
Nov. 16, 2009
The Washington football team has an off day this Saturday as the schedule allows the Dawgs a rest prior to their final two games of the season -- Nov. 28 vs. WSU and Dec. 5 vs. California.
As the season winds down, two of the Huskies' most prominent offensive players are working their way up a few UW record lists that are worth noting.
Junior quarterback Jake Locker has made his way on to both the single-season and career passing yardage top-10 lists, as well as several others.
Meanwhile, tailback Chris Polk needs just 111 yards over his final two games to notch the 13th 1,000-yard rushing season in Husky history. His 889 yards this year are already the second-most ever by a UW freshman, trailing only Locker's 986.
Only a redshirt freshman, Polk hasn't made too many marks in the record book quite yet, but he's certainly on the verge. His 889 yards are the third-most by a UW back since 1997 (both Louis Rankin and Locker had more during the 2007 season). He also currently has three straight 100-yard games, with is fourth-most in UW history.
Here are where Polk and Locker rank on selected UW single-season and, in Locker's case, career lists:
