Women's Tennis Adds Recruit For 2010-11

SEATTLE - Women's tennis head coach Jill Hultquist will welcome a new addition to the Washington program next fall, as Andjela Nemcevic of Serbia has signed her National Letter of Intent.
A native of Belgrade, Nemcevic is friends with former Husky men's great and fellow Serbian Alex Slovic. Current Husky junior Aleksandra Krsljanin also hails from Belgrade. Nemcevic will join UW's roster beginning with the 2010-11 season.
Nemcevic has competed in a number of pro tournaments this year as an amateur, and has earned a high ranking of 952 on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tour. She also has a top International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior world ranking of 638. Nemcevic has defeated WTA tour players ranked 543rd and 634th plus a number of wins over ITF junior Top-50 players.
'We are very excited to have Andjela joining our team next year,' said Hultquist. 'She has a lot of talent in both singles and doubles and will make an instant impact in our line-up.'
