Women's Swimming Jumps Back into the Pool at Toshiba Classic

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's swimming team is back in action this week at the Toshiba Classic presented hosted by the University of California at San Diego Nov. 19-21 and will be held at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif.
The classic will be run like an NCAA Championships and will host both a men and women's side. On the men's side there will be 14 squads.
The women's field includes 26 teams, with defending national champion California highlighting the group. Also included are Stanford, Hawaii and UCLA, who finished fourth, 29th and 41st respectively at the NCAA D-I National Championships this past spring.
The last time the Beavers jumped into the pool was a triangular meet between UCLA and UC Santa Barbara.
Preliminaries will commence at 9:00 AM daily for the Men, followed by the 'A' flight of Women (approx. 11:30 AM) and then the 'B' flight of Women's Finals beginning nightly at 6:00 PM, with 4 heats of every event.
Sophomore Jenni Dole highlights the backstroke for the Beavers with individual wins in the 100y (56:94) and 200y (2:02.47) backstroke this season, both coming at the University of the Pacific Invitational.
Team co-captain Signe Larson highlights the breaststroke for Oregon State with a first place finish in the 200y (2:22.38) and a third place finish in the 100y (1:05.52) at the UOP Invitational.
