Ellis And Lukens Named To Pac-10 All-Academic First Team

Senior Katherine Ellis and junior Zara Luken were named to the Pac-10 Cross Country All-Academic First Team and junior Allison Rojewski to the Second Team it was announced today (Nov. 19) by Commisioner Larry Scott. In addition, seniors Chanel Fischetti and Bridget Helgerson and sophomore Leah Gaeta received Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention.

USC was one of three conference teams to have two athletes selected to the first team and only one school had more runners selected on the first and second teams combined.

Ellis is an Engineering major with a 3.91 grade point average and Lukens is a Social Sciences and History major with a 3.94 GPA. Ellis was a Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team selection in 2007 and 2008, while Lukens was also a first-team selection in 2008. Ellis and Lukens were also high school teammates at Columbia River HS in Vancouver, Wash.

Rojewski, a Biological Sciences/Life Sciences major with a 3.90 GPA, was named to her first Pac-10 All-Academic team.

Fischetti was honored by the conference for her third time, as she was named first team in 2007 and second team in 2008. For Helgerson, it was her third-straight honorable mention selection and for Gaeta, her first selection.
