Men's Hoops Hosts Sacramento State in Home Opener

The Oregon State men's basketball team returns to action this weekend as the Beavers host Sacramento State in the home opener at Gill Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 12:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 1-800-GO-BEAVS as the contest can be heard over the Beaver Sports Radio Network with a live video feed available through a subscription with Beaver Nation Online.
Oregon State enters the contest with a mark of 1-2 on the season following play at the Duel in the Desert tournament in Lubbock, Texas, last week. The Beavers defeated South Dakota while falling to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas Tech.
Seth Tarver led Oregon State at the tournament as the senior forward earned all-tournament honors after averaging 11.7 points and 5.3 rebounds through the three games.
Senior Roeland Schaftenaar enters the weekend as the only other Oregon State player in double figures as the center averages 10.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest.
Oregon State shots 42.6 percent from the floor at the tournament while holding opponents to just 40.4 percent from the field.
Sacramento State enters the contest with a mark of 2-2 on the season after a 90-75 victory over Bethany on Wednesday night. John Dickson leads Sacramento State with 12.3 points per contest while the Hornets are shooting 43.1 percent from the floor while holding opponents to 44.1 percent from the field.
The contest marks the first meeting between the two programs.
