Women's Hoops Enjoys Big Apple
Nov. 19, 2009
Though there was plenty of business to handle on their recent trip to New York, the Arizona women's basketball team also found some time to visit New York City and take in the sights of the Big Apple.
Following an afternoon practice on Friday, November 13, the Wildcats made the short drive from New Rochelle, site of Iona College, into midtown Manhattan. The team was able to do some shopping, visit Rockefeller Center and ultimately ended up in Times Square where they enjoyed dinner and some fun at Dave and Buster's.
Adding to the fun was another piece of hardware for the trophy case as the Cats claimed the Iona College Tip-Off Tournament title. Capping off the trip was a sunset ride to JFK Airport where team was able to see the city skyline as the sun dipped down for the evening.
The attached video contains photos as well as brief video clips of the team during its trip while a complete photo gallery is also available for viewing.
Arizona returns to action this Saturday, November 21 at the JHG Jam in San Diego, squaring off with tournament host San Diego State at 6:30 p.m. (PT) The game will also be broadcast on The Mtn., while Derrick Palmer and Alysiah Bond will call all of the action on KTUC AM 1400 in Tucson.
