Taylor, Lee In Top-10 After Two Rounds of All-American Tournament

EL PASO, Texas - Husky senior Nick Taylor is tied for fourth and Richard Lee is tied for 10th after 36 holes of the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic at the El Paso Country Club.

Taylor is 8-under-par 134 after shooting a 2-under 69 in the morning round and 6-under 65 in the afternoon. Lee had a stellar morning with a 65 -- the lowest round of his UW career -- but shot a two-over 73 in the afternoon and is 4-under 138 total.

In the first round, Taylor was one-over after the first nine, but tallied birdies on four-out-five holes on No.'s 11 through 15 to go to 3-under for the round. He bogeyed No. 18 to end his first round at 69. Taylor's second round was highlighted by seven birdies and just one bogey. He was four-under after his first nine and bogeyed his 10th hole, before ending his round with three more birdies.

Lee was bogey-free in his first round of the day, knocking in four birdies on his first nine and carding and eagle-two on the back for his 65. The eagle came on No. 1 (Lee teed off from 10), a 420-yard par four. On his second 18, Lee had to count four bogeys and had just two birdies.

Wichita State's Dustin Garza holds a two stroke lead after shooting an 11-under-par 131 overall in the two rounds.

The field for the tournament consists of 32 All-American from last season, including NCAA Division I Player of the Year Matt Hill (North Carolina State) and Freshman of the Year Morgan Hoffmann (Oklahoma State), as well as the Division III Player of the Year Mitchell Fedorka (La Verne). Taylor is one-of-six Golfweek preseason All-American selections.
