Hey Gym Dawg Fans!
Season is almost here! My time here seems like it has gone by so fast, but I can't wait to start competing! Our intrasquad is only a few weeks away. That's crazy! It's so exciting to see the team starting to pull everything together. Everything in the gym is looking really good. Everyone has been training hard all preseason and it's showing. We've been doing pressure routines on each event and it's awesome to see everyone hitting in that kind of situation. I think we can all see that we are improving week by week. I can't wait until we get to show everyone what we can do in the competitions!
Being a freshman, everything is so new and exciting. I'm enjoying my freshman year so much and it's going by so fast! I've been here for about three months now and I'm just realizing I miss home, so I can't wait to go back to Texas for Thanksgiving this week! It will be a good rest before we get back in here and start season! I think most of the reason that I haven't missed home is because of my teammates, especially the four other freshmen, and coaches. We are always together and we have built such a strong bond. I'm definitely going to miss everyone over Thanksgiving break!
What can I say about freshman year?... WOW. This opportunity to do gymnastics for the University of Washington has been an amazing experience already and I can't wait to see what my future as a Dawg looks like. It might be weird, but I actually kind of like the dorms! It's nice being close to all of my friends, and it's easy to get everywhere I need to go. My roommate and I have already become best friends, (thanks to Shanna for matching us up!). A lot of people give us a hard time for being freshmen, but that's just something that everyone goes through, so we just laugh at ourselves now. (Like when we get lost, which has happened to me a few times! Haha) For the most part everyone is very helpful though!
My time at U-Dub has been amazing and I can't wait to continue my journey as a husky.
Hopefully I'll see y'all on December 11th!
