Swimming Signs Three for 2010-11 Season

Corvallis, Ore. - The Oregon State women's swimming team signed three swimmers for the 2010-11 season it was announced by head coach Larry Liebowitz.
The signed swimmers are: Erica Brannon (Santa Maria, Calif.) who specializes in the backstroke, Aya Fujimura (Irvine, Calif.) who specializes in the butterfly, and Maggie Hanson (Newhall, Calif.) who specializes in the butterfly.
'These girls will really add to our depth,' Liebowitz said. 'With only marginal improvement they will make a big impact on our team next year.'
Fujimura, a native of Japan, spent her high school years at Woodbridge High where she specialized in the 100 (56.5) and 200 (2:02) butterfly which would place her in the top-10 all-time in the 200 fly at Oregon State.
Brannon comes from St. Joseph High School in Santa Maria, Calif. where she primarily swam the backstroke. She had personal best times of 57.37 in the 100 and 2:04.6 in the 200 backstroke both of which would place her in the top-10 in those events at Oregon State.
Hanson who will be graduating from Hart High School in Newhall, Calif. specializes in both the butterfly and freestyle. She has personal bests in the 100 butterfly (56.7), 200 butterfly (2:04), 100 freestyle (52.5), and the 200 freestyle (1:52.9).
'With the big freshman class we have this year and these young ladies coming in, I believe that we're going to make some big steps forward in the next year or two,' Liebowitz said. 'I'm really looking forward to the class and I think they are going to help us.'
