LOS ANGELES - The UCLA baseball program has named Trevor Ryan as its Director of Operations, as announced this week by head coach John Savage. Ryan, a senior majoring in business-economics, has served as a student manager with the baseball team during his three years at UCLA.
'Trevor has been a big part of our program the past three seasons,' Savage said. 'He is a very hard worker and has been very loyal to UCLA baseball. His promotion to our Director of Operations position be an asset to our coaching staff, and allow him to expand his duties within our program.'
Serving as UCLA's Director of Operations, Ryan will be counted upon to serve as a liaison between UCLA baseball and other offices in the Bruins' athletic department.
Ryan has worked as the baseball program's head student manager since the 2007 season, assisting the coaching staff with a variety of administrative duties. In the summer of 2009, he served as an intern in the ticket office for the Sacramento River Cats, the triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics (Pacific Coast League).
Ryan, who hails from Chico, Calif., intends to pursue a career in baseball operations after graduating from UCLA in June 2010.
