Women's Soccer to be Honored at Halftime of Colorado Game

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's soccer team, which advanced to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, will be honored at halftime of the Oregon State - Colorado men's basketball game on Friday, Dec. 4, the athletic department announced on Tuesday.
Oregon State recently completed the best season in program history as the Beavers advanced to the NCAA tournament for the second time in school history, defeating Ohio State and nationally-seeded Florida before falling to Notre Dame, 1-0, in the Sweet 16.
The Beavers finished the year with a record of 14-8-1, posting the second-most wins in school history. Among the many highlights throughout the 2009 season, Oregon State defeated four nationally-ranked foes and had a seven-match winning streak following a loss to Portland State in the season opener.
Three Oregon State players were named All Pac-10 Conference, including senior Rachael Axon, who earned first-team honors. In addition, Ashley Wood was a ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selection as 10 Oregon State players earned academic all-conference honors.
