Stanford Gymnastics Ranked No. 7 in Women's Poll

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford gymnastics team is ranked No. 7 in the GymInfo Women's Pre-Season Coaches Poll.
The Cardinal is coming off an eighth-place national finish, and its seventh appearance in the NCAA team championships in nine years. Stanford has reached the NCAA Super Six finals four times in the past eight years, with a pair of top-three finishes.
In addition, Stanford has seven top-10 finishes since 2001.
The Cardinal loses three seniors -- Nicole Ourada, Kelly Fee and Heather Purnell -- but return Carly Janiga, the NCAA runner-up on the uneven bars, as well as all-around standout Shelley Alexander, regional bars champ Allyse Ishino, vault All-American Blair Ryland, international veterans Alyssa Brown and Nicole Pechanec, and up-and-coming gymnasts such as Danielle Ikoma.

The season begins Jan. 9 at Georgia and four home meets, beginning Jan. 17 against Arizona at Burnham Pavilion.
