Swimmer Alyssa Anderson Honored

Somers, WI. - Multiple NCAA 'B' qualifying times for Alyssa Anderson earned her the Counsilman Hunsaker National Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week Honor.
Anderson, a sophomore from Granite Bay, Calif., had two wins to help Arizona win the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational. The Wildcats finished the three-day meet in first place with 1,084.5.
Anderson won the 500 freestyle (4:40.07, NCAA 'B' time), the 400 individual medley (4:09.37, NCAA 'B' time), swam to a third place finish in the 200 butterfly (1:56.30, NCAA 'B' time), a fourth place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:46.51, NCAA 'B' time) and swam to a sixth place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:01.12, NCAA 'B' time). Anderson also swam on the third place 400 freestyle relay (3:20.85, NCAA 'B' time).
Anderson’s times in both the 500 free and 400 I.M. ranked her among the top-five fastest times swum this season. Last season as a freshman, Anderson won the Pac-10 crown in the 500 free.
The Arizona women will be in action January 8 when it hosts Oregon State and NAU at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.
