2011 and '14 Dates with Hawai'i Added to Football Schedule

Oregon State University Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis has announced that the Beaver football team will play a home-and-home series with the University of Hawai’i Warriors, beginning with the 2011 season at Aloha Stadium.

 

The Beavers will travel to Honolulu for a Sat., Dec. 3 game in the ’11 season.  The Warriors will return to Corvallis Sept. 13, 2014. 

 

“This is a great series for both programs,” OSU head coach Mike Riley said.  “There are many connections between both states and schools; it’s a good experience for our players and I think it makes sense for both programs to play each other on a regular basis.”

 

Oregon State and Hawai’i recently completed a two-game home-and-home series.  The Beavers opened the 2008 home season at Reser Stadium with a 45-7 victory and OSU concluded the 2006 regular season with a 35-32 victory at No. 24 Hawai’i.  OSU holds a 5-3 advantage overall and broke a bowl game drought when it played Hawai’i in the 1999 Oahu Bowl (UH 23-17 win) – OSU hadn’t played in a bowl prior since the Jan. 1, 1965 Rose Bowl.

 

With the addition of the game at Hawai’i, per NCAA rules, OSU will now have a 13-game schedule.  The Beavers are seeking two non-conference games, likely in September, and already have a Sept. 10 game at Wisconsin on the docket.

Oregon State is headed for a school record fourth straight bowl game when the Beavers play in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Dec. 22. Tickets are available now to 2009 Beaver season ticket holders by calling 1-800-GOBEAVS or online at osubeavers.com -- deadline to receive priority status is Dec. 9.  Ticket orders for all Beaver fans is available now.  MAACO Bowl Las Vegas tickets are $50 each and each order will have a $35 handling charge.  Tickets will be shipped by Dec. 15 via UPS Next Day Air.  All ticket orders will be allocated using Beaver Athletic Student Fund (BASF) order priority.
