O'Hara Nominated for Honda Soccer Award

STANFORD, Calif. - In the wake of her record-breaking season, Stanford star Kelley O'Hara is up for another prestigious honor -- the Honda Sports Award for Soccer.
O'Hara is one of four finalists, alongside UCLA senior forward Lauren Cheney, and North Carolina seniors Whitney Engen, a central defender, and Tobin Heath, a midfielder.
The winner will be decided by nationwide voting and become a nominee for The Honda-Broderick Cup, awarded annually to the nation's outstanding collegiate woman athlete of the year.
Voting, which began Monday, lasts only through Thursday at noon PT.

O'Hara, a senior, is this year's Pac-10 Player of the Year, a first-team All-American, first-team Academic All-American, and was selected to the NCAA College Cup All-Tournament team. O'Hara led the nation in goals (26) and points (65), shattering Stanford season records in the process.
O'Hara, a captain who carries a cumulative GPA of 3.41, led Stanford to its best-ever season (25-1) and its first berth in an NCAA final.
