WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- STANFORD sophomore forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike was named the Pac-10 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 7-13, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. She earns the honor for the second time this season, receiving the award the first week of the season on Nov. 16.
Nnemkadi Ogwumike (Cypress, Texas.) led all players with 24 points in the second-ranked Cardinal’s 96-60 rout of DePaul on Sunday, going 9-for-13 (69.2 percent) from the floor and 6-for-9 from the free throw line. The scoring effort marked her fourth 20-point performance in the team’s first seven games of the season. Ogwumike also had six rebounds in the contest, four off the offensive glass, and added a block and two steals.
