National FSN Broadcast Scheduled For Saturday's Women's Basketball Civil War
Jan. 5, 2010
The Oregon State women's basketball team will be looking to win its third consecutive game against Oregon when the Beavers host the Ducks Saturday in the first Civil War game of the 2009-10 season. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT.
Fans across the nation will have the opportunity to catch the game live as it is being broadcast on FSN, with Jim Watson serving as the play-by-play voice and Mary Murphy the color analyst. It is the first of two nationally televised games for the Beavers this season, who will also square off against Arizona State on FSN, Jan. 16 in Tempe.
But for now, the Beavers are looking to win their 10th game of the season with their in-state rivals coming to Gill. So, if you're in the area, make sure to come and support the Beavers in the Civil War. It promises to be a great environment featuring two excellent Pacific-10 squads.
Reserved tickets for individual women's basketball games are $10, while general admission for adults is $7 and senior/youth is $5.
Single-game tickets are available by visiting osubeavers.com, calling 1-800-GO-BEAVS or by visiting the ticket office at Gill Coliseum.
Oregon State comes into the game with a 9-3 overall record and 1-1 mark in Pac-10 play, while Oregon is 11-3 and 2-0 in league contests.
Both teams are among the national leaders statistically, but in different categories.
The Beavers rank first in the Pac-10 and ninth in the nation in scoring defense and are allowing just 51.4 points per game. Oregon State's rebounding margin is plus-10.1 this season, which is second in the Pac-10 and 13th nationally.
Also, the Beavers are allowing teams to shoot just .222 from beyond the three-point line, which is third nationally. Oregon State is just behind No. 1 Wake Forest in that category, as the Demon Deacons are keeping opponents at a .216 clip.
Oregon, meanwhile, leads the nation in scoring offense, averaging 87.1 points per game, and the Ducks are sixth in three-pointers per game at 8.9.
For those who can't make it to the game or do not have access to FSN, catch it live on KLOO 1340-AM in the Corvallis area. A full audio stream is also available at Beaver Nation Online (osubeavers.com). Ron Callan will call all the action. Please note that there will be no video stream of Saturday's game because it is airing live on FSN.
