Easton California College Baseball Media Days in January
Jan. 8, 2010
CALIFORNIA-- Two dozen teams make up the Division-I college baseball landscape, bolstering Hall of Fame players, Cy Young Award winners and collegiate national championships.
For the first time in state history, teams from around the state will be a part in the Easton California College Baseball Media Day, January 22 at ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney and January 26 at Stanford University. Each day of the event-series will begin at 9 a.m.
Coaches from the Southern California region, from San Luis Obispo to San Diego will take part in the media event in Anaheim on January 22, where coaches will be available for breakout sessions and the second annual Coaches Cookoff.
In Northern California, teams from the Bay Area as well as the Sacramento area and Fresno will hold a live webcast of the three-hour event at the Kissick Auditorium of the Arrillaga Sports Center on the Stanford campus on January 26.
“This is a great event to showcase all that the Golden State has to offer in regards to college baseball,” said Kyle Horn, Easton's Vice President of Marketing. “I am happy that Easton can play a big part in this event, and further our commitment to the collegiate game.”
Each coach from the Easton California College Baseball Media Day will also tape an extended segment with collegebaseballtoday.com's Eric Sorenson, which will be posted here following the event.
Teams from around the Golden State have combined to win 29 national titles and played in over 50 College World Series. Over 80 former players played in the Major Leagues this past year and five former players have earned the ultimate honor, earning a spot in the Hall of Fame-- Jackie Robinson (UCLA), Ozzie Smith (Cal Poly), Tony Gwynn (San Diego State), Harry Hopper (Saint Mary's) and Tom Seaver (USC).
