Huskies Arrive In Berkeley
Jan. 14, 2010
7:18 AM: It's a beautiful morning here in Berkeley, Calif., as the sun rises over the Oakland Hills. The Huskies made a late arrival into town last night, courtesy of an Alaska Air flight out of SeaTac to Oakland International.
The flight left a lot of the Huskies shaken up given the amount of turbulence on the way down. At one point, the plane dropped 20 feet or so, inducing a lot of fear in the cabin. But everyone is safe and sound, and the charter bus soon delivered the team to their hotel on the Berkeley marina.
Upon arrival, the team was treated to sandwiches and snacks inside a dining room. Then everyone relaxed in their rooms until 12:00 AM curfew, when Director of Operations Wingate Smith comes by and takes the student-athletes' cell phones.
The game plan for this morning is for the team to eat breakfast at the hotel, and then head over to Haas Pavilion on the California campus (about a mile up the road) for shootaround.Remember, you can follow for the entire road trip in this space and on our Twitter account (@UW_WBB).
