Former Beaver and Current Bengal Added to Pro Bowl Roster
Jan. 15, 2010
The Cincinnati Bengals have announced that wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, formerly Chad Johnson of Oregon State, has been added to the AFC's Pro Bowl team.
It's the sixth time Ochocinco has made the Pro Bowl. He replaces the injured Wes Welker of New England. Ochocinco was the second alternate, but first alternate Randy Moss of New England is also hurt.
As a ninth-year pro, Ochocinco led the Bengals with 72 receptions, 1,047 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
Known then as Johnson, he helped the Beavers in his only season in Corvallis to the 2000 Fiesta Bowl title and co-Pac-10 Championship. Ochocinco joins former OSU standout running back Steven Jackson (see news release here) on the Pro Bowl roster.
The game is scheduled Jan. 31 in Miami.
