Hi GymDawg fans!!
Last Friday's meet against UCLA was extremely exciting for all of us! There was so much positive energy throughout the whole meet and we all walked out of there feeling sooooo proud to be a Husky! I think all of us and all of you fans see that our team has extreme promise for the future ahead of us and I cannot wait to see where this great season will take us.
This meet was also very exciting for me because my old club coach, Chris Waller, who also coaches at UCLA, was there and it was so nice seeing him again. He is an awesome coach and great friend to have! It was also fun to get to see one of my old teammates again who is a native of Waller's GymJam Academy too-- Talia. My sister Sydney flew in from SoCal as well on the night of the meet and stayed here in the dorms with me all weekend. Since we are really close, it was so good having her here with me and she loves it here in Seattle. I cannot wait till the next time she comes to visit!
So, this week we are all training really hard for the upcoming meet this Friday which happens to be our first travel meet! And again, we are competing against another top-ranked team, Oregon State, who happens to currently be ranked #5 in the country! All of us love that our schedule consists of competing against all the top top teams. With these experiences, we are just going to get better and better. All of us freshmen are particularly excited for this meet because of the new experience for us of traveling with the team and competing away from home! Woo hoo! In our first two meets our team has been hitting pretty well and our goal for this meet is to take our hits on the road and do what we know how to do away from home. We got this!
As for the academics, we are into our third week of winter quarter classes and everyone is starting to get the hang of things. I personally really like the classes I am taking this quarter! Just a quick shout out and thank you to wrap things up: thanks to all our fans that come to support us at our meets, you all make our meets so much fun and it seems that the crowd keeps getting bigger and bigger. I hope it just keeps increasing as the season goes on. And I also hope that some of you guys can make it to this Friday's meet even though it is away. We love our cheerleaders, especially when we will get to see the purple amongst the orange in the crowd! I know that as of right now I will have two of my very own cheerleaders at Oregon. :D
Alright, that's all I got for now!! Hope to see you all very soon! Go Dawgs!!
