Klineman Earns Volleyball Magazine Second Team All-America Honors

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's Alix Klineman was named a Second Team All-American by Volleyball Magazine, as announced in the January 2010 issue. Klineman was one of five Pac-10 players to earn the accolades.
The junior picks up her third straight honors from the publication after being named to the First Team as a freshman and a sophomore.
Klineman, a native of Manhattan Beach, Calif., led the team for the third straight season with 4.25 kills per set. She also averaged 4.82 points per set. Both marks were sixth in the Pac-10 this season. She registered a new career high with 33 kills against California to lead Stanford to its fourth straight Pac-10 title in the conference finale. The junior ended the year tied for second on the team with 10 double-doubles on the season.
A three-time AVCA All-American, All-Pac-10 pick and AVCA All-Pacific Region selection, Klineman was named to the All-Stanford Region team after tallying 18 kills and a solo block versus Michigan.
The Pac-10 placed two on the First Team - California's Hana Cutura and Washington's Tamari Miyashiro. Joining Klineman on the Second Team were UCLA's Amanda Gil and Oregon's Sonja Newcombe.
