On The Road With Women's Hoops

LOS ANGELES - It was a dark and stormy night ...
For those who have paid attention to the weather reports in Los Angeles over the last half month, you'd think that the city was going to be halfway underwater as the Oregon State women's basketball team arrived to play USC and UCLA on Wednesday.
Well, fortunately for us, that was not the case as the weather has improved considerably and it's a comfortable 65 degrees in Manhattan Beach. The team arrived at the hotel at approximately 8:30 p.m. tonight after taking a 5:30 p.m. flight out of Portland.
It was a relatively smooth flight with a few bumps coming out of PDX and a few coming into LAX, but all in all, a pretty relaxing 90 minute trip for the Beavers. OSU had some familiar passengers as Oregon was on the same flight; it's not the first time the two teams have been on the same flight, but it's not all that common. Not that it mattered much; by about 10 minutes into the flight, everyone was either engrossed in a book, listening to music, or asleep.
The team gets up tomorrow for breakfast and has a midday shootaround before tomorrow night's 7 p.m. game. Make sure to listen on KLOO 1340-AM and Beaver Nation Online (osubeavers.com). Ron Callan will call all the action.
Check back Thursday for more On The Road With Women's Hoops.
Good night from Los Angeles and Go Beavs!
