Jan. 28, 2010
Select athletes from the men's and women's track and field teams will open up the indoor season this Friday and Saturday as they compete at the UW Invitational in Seattle, WA.
The women's team will send sprinters and distance runners, highlighted by UCLA's top cross country runner Shannon Murakami. The men's team will send Cory Primm, Scott Crawford and Marlon Patterson to compete in distance events.
UCLA will not compete until Saturday, although it is a two day meet. This will be the first opportunity for Bruin athletes to qualify for the NCAA Championships, held March 12-13 in Fayetteville, AR.
The majority of both teams will open up the indoor season next weekend when the women head to New York for the New Balance Invite and the men head to Flagstaff for the NAU Team Challenge.
