USC Tennis Donor Bonnie Sanborn Dies

Bonnie Sanborn, a longtime benefactor of the USC tennis teams, died on Jan. 22, 2010. She was 82.
In memory of her husband Art Sanborn, Bonnie Sanborn donated the funds for the construction of the sixth court in USC's Marks Tennis Stadium in 2006. A plaque was placed at the courts at Marks Stadium in recognition of the Sanborns' generosity.
Sanborn and her family have been avid fans and generous supporters of USC tennis for years. Both Bonnie and Art attended USC, and son Bruce was a member of the USC men s tennis team in the late 1960s. Art Sanborn was a longtime friend of former USC coach Dick Leach, further bonding the Sanborn family to the Trojan family.
A member of the Chi Omega sorority at USC, Bonnie Sanborn is survived by her children Bruce, Cristy and Bonnie Karen, as well as seven grandchildren.
Memorial services are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any gifts be made to either The Mission Stroke Center or The Sisters of St. Joseph Hospice Care, both located at Mission Hospital Foundation, 27800 Medical Center Rd. Mission Viejo, Calif. 92691.
