UCLA Baseball Selected Third in Pac-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA has been selected third in the Pac-10 Conference's preseason baseball coaches' poll, according to vote by the league's coaches. Arizona State has been chosen as the favorite to win the conference crown, and Oregon State has been tabbed to finish second.
For the second consecutive season, Arizona State was picked to win the Pac-10 title, receiving seven of nine first-place votes and 78 points overall. Oregon State received two first-place votes and 67 total points for the No. 2 slot, while UCLA was picked third, totaling 65 points.
Rounding out the poll's top five selections were Stanford, which secured 59 points overall, and Arizona, which grabbed 44 total points.
Washington State, California, USC, Washington and Oregon round out the conference poll's 10 teams.
UCLA has been ranked as high as No. 20 (Collegiate Baseball) in any of the five college baseball preseason polls. The Bruins have been tabbed No. 23 by Baseball America and No. 27 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
The Bruins open their season against Southern University at Jackie Robinson Stadium on Friday, Feb. 19. Game time is 6 p.m.
