Red-Hot Rookie Prugh Keeps Rolling
Feb. 6, 2010
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Former Husky Alex Prugh continued the amazing run in his PGA rookie season with a third round 5-under 66 to sit in a tie for eighth heading into the final round.
Coming off back-to-back fifth-place finishes at the Bob Hope Classic and Farmers Insurance Open, the former All-American is one of four players 7-under overall for the tournament, which was halted due to darkness. Twelve golfers were unable to complete their round and will have to finish early Sunday morning.
Prugh played a near flawless round avoiding any bogeys and converting five birdies on the day. He is seven strokes behind Steve Stricker, who has a five-stoke advantage over the next closest competitor.
Third round action continues tomorrow at 7:00 a.m., followed immediately by the final round.
