Corvallis, Ore. -

A total of 58 lettermen will return for the 2010 Oregon State football season, and it all begins Mon., March 29 with the first official day of spring practice.  Off those 58 lettermen, a Pac-10 Conference high 20 starters (PK & P) will make ’10 Beavers one of the more experienced teams in the nation.

Most of the attention will center on the quarterback position, where 10th-year head coach Mike Riley will begin the processes of grooming a new starter.  Sophomore Ryan Katz returns with the most experience at OSU, having played in four games last season completing 14 of 27 pass attempts for 232 yards and one touchdown.  Katz will be competing for the starting job with junior Peter Lalich and freshmen-redshirts Cody Vaz and Jack Lomax.  Lalich played in 10 games at Virginia during the 2007 and ’08 seasons, completing 74 of 135 attempts for 680 yards and two touchdowns, with two starts.
