Having its three-game winning streak snapped following a 16-point loss at Oregon State last Thursday, California remains in first place in the Pac-10 with a half-game lead over Arizona State and USC. The Golden Bears will now make their final appearance at Mac Court when they face Oregon on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 3 p.m.
On Thursday against the Beavers, Cal only had two players reach double figures, led by senior forward Theo Robertson's 15 points and senior guard Patrick Christopher's 12. The Bears' leading scorer all season, senior guard Jerome Randle, was held to just six points and went 0-for-5 from three-point distance.
Randle reamins in third on Cal's all-time career scoring list with 1,686 points, just two points behind Lamond Murray for second. Sean Lampley is Cal's current all-time scorer with 1,776 points. Randle also needs eight assists to become just the third player in school history to record 500 assists, and he is two behind Jason Kidd for third all-time. With 502 points on the season, Randle is the current points leader in the Pac-10.
One of Cal's strengths all season has been its free throw shooting. The Bears finished 15-for-23 against Oregon State with Robertson going 4-for-6. Randle is the season leader at 92.0 percent, the best single-season percentage in school history, and senior forward Jamal Boykin is second at 86.3 percent.
The team leader in steals with 44, Christopher is eighth on the school's career scoring list with 1,572 points. He is currently second on the team in scoring with 16.1 ppg and second in rebounding at 5.3 rpg. If Christopher plays the rest of the games this season, he will set the school record for most games played at Cal. He needs seven more steals to crack the school's single-season top 10 list in that category.
In addition to currently sitting atop the Pac-10 standings, Cal also has a Strength of Schedule ranking of No. 7 and an RPI ranking of No. 26.
