Softball Upends Louisiana-Monroe for Sweep

College Station, Texas – A big third inning sparked the Oregon State softball team’s 6-5 come from behind win over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday afternoon at Aggie Softball Complex as part of the Aggie Classic.
Sophomore Paige Hall (Portland, Ore.) went 2-for-3 with two doubles to tie the single game school record, while sophomore Ashley Sanchez (Alameda, Calif.) also went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a walk. Freshman Ally Kutz (Mt. Vernon, Wash.) earned a pair of hits for herself in her first start of the weekend, tallying a pair of RBI. And senior Dani Chisholm (Boring, Ore.) earned her first multi-hit game with a pair of singles.
Louisiana-Monroe took a big five run lead to close out the second inning behind five hits and two Oregon State errors. But as always, the Beavers answered back with a six-run third inning on five hits and a hit by pitch, led by Hall’s first double of the day, scoring two, to take the 6-5 edge.
Senior Kelly Dyer (Eugene, Ore.) earned the win after throwing six full innings of relief for Hall, who threw one. Dyer threw three strikeouts, allowing only three hits. Tiffany Mills was charged with the loss after giving up all six runs, throwing 2.1 innings.
