2010 Pac-10 Wrestling Championship

The 48th Pac-10 Conference Wrestling Championships hosted by UC Davis will be held in the Pavilion on Fri., Feb. 26 and Sat., Feb. 27. Individual Conference titles in 10 weight classes, as well as, the overall team title will be up for grabs during the two-day tournament. The Championships are divided into three sessions, culminating with the championship finals matches Saturday evening. First-round action begins at 12 p.m. PT on Friday. Championship finals begin at 4 p.m. PT Saturday night. BOISE STATE is the back-to-back defending Pac-10 Champion.

Tickets for the 2010 Pac-10 Wrestling Championships are available through the UC Davis Athletic Office. Orders may be placed online at www.ucdavisaggies.com or via phone (530) 752-1915. On February 26th and 27th, tickets maybe be purchased at the ticket windows at the front of the Pavilion. Ticket windows open 60 minutes prior to the start of competition.
The individual championship at each of the 10 weight classes is at stake this weekend, as well as, positioning for the national wild card selection to earn a trip to the 2010 NCAA Division I Championships held in Omaha, Neb., from March 18-20.
Boise State claimed its second-straight Pac-10 Championship in 2009 for its fifith Conference title in the last 10 years. Oregon State leads the Pac-10 for most Conference titles all-time with 17, while Arizona State narrowly trails the Beavers with 16. Since 2000, Boise State and ASU have dominated the mat, winning eight of the last nine Pac-10 crowns.
AT THE PAVILION AT UC DAVIS
This year marks the second time the Pac-10 Championships have been held on the UC Davis campus. The previous championship helped in Davis, Calif., was in 1999 when Cal State Bakersfield won its second Pac-10 title in four years.
Requests for credentials should be made through Amanda Piechowski at UC Davis. Media interested in obtaining credentials can do so by sending an e-mail request to email@example.com or calling (530) 752-3505. Requests must be made no later than 24 hours prior to the event time. When time permits, credentials will be mailed. Otherwise, they will be distributed at Will Call.
A set of results will be available to each head coach following the conclusion of each session and at the conclusion of the Championship. Results will be posted daily on the Pac-10 website at www.pac-10.org.
In continuing its growing partnership with CSTV, the Pac-10 will broadcast the 2010 Pac-10 Wrestling Championships live online at www.pac-10.org.
