Trojans Take 12th At Wildcat Invitational

A tough two days of golf came to an end Tuesday for the No. 5 USC women's golf team, which took 12th at the 2010 Wildcat Invitational at the Arizona National G.C. in Tucson, Ariz.
USC, playing its second day in a row in cold and windy conditions (albeit without any rain Tuesday), combined for a final-round 310 and finished the two-day event at 50-over 618 (308-310). The invitational was originally scheduled for 54 holes, but miserable playing conditions reduced Monday's action from 36 holes to 18.
The Women of Troy, who won their previous tournament (and their second of the season) at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge two weeks ago, were led by senior Belen Mozo, tied for 22nd at 8-over 150 (77-73).
Sophomore Jennifer Song tied for 40th at 12-over 154 (74-80), her first finish outside the top 2 in four events this season.
Junior Lizette Salas had a streak of three consecutive top 12 finishes snapped with a tie for 53rd at 15-over 157 (79-78). Sophomore Inah Park and senior Caroline Kim tied for 57th while freshman Cyna Rodriguez, playing as in individual, tied for 86th.
USC will get a chance to redeem itself in less than a week when it plays in theBruin/Wave Invitational, Monday through Wednesday (March 1-3) at the Robinson Ranch G.C. in Santa Clarita, Calif.
