Game 2 - Arizona 11, Fresno State 0 (5 innings)
CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. -- Arizona's bats came to life for the second game in a row as the Wildcats scattered 11 Bulldog hits and downed No. 19 Fresno State, 11-0, in five innings on Friday evening.
Arizona top three batters in the lineup went a combined 7-for-9 on the evening.
Kenzie Fowler (7-0) struck out nine in her second complete game of the day, allowing four hits and issuing three walks. Her counterpart, Morgan Melloh (5-2) tossed three innings, giving up 11 earned runs and seven walks for the Bulldogs (9-3). Mackenzie Oakes allowed two hits, but struck out three in her inning of work.
After Fowler got herself out of a bases-loaded jam in the top half of the second, Lastrapes hit a one-out solo shot to centerfield to widen the margin. Two singles later, Stacie Chambers lined a double off the fence, plating Lauren Schutzler and K'Lee Arredondo to open up a 6-0 lead.
Lastrapes drew a leadoff walk in the Arizona (9-1) third and moved to third base after Schutzler's single and right fielder Jody Badorine's error on the play. Arredondo hit a grounder to the shortstop Haley Gilleland, but her throw to the plate was not in time as Lastrapes ducked under the tag. After a Chambers walk, Koria sailed a grand slam to opposite field, her third, to cap the scoring, 11-0.
