Cal Baseball Defeats Central Michigan, 9-4, at CS Bakersfield Tournament
BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. - Led by a two-home run day from sophomore catcher Chadd Krist and outstanding pitching from sophomore right-hander Erik Johnson, the California baseball team defeated Central Michigan, 9-4, Friday (Feb. 26) in the opening game of the 2010 Cal State Bakersfield Tournament at Hardt Field in Bakersfield. The Golden Bears (4-1) got another stellar effort from Johnson, who threw 6.0 innings with four hits, no runs, two walks and a career-high 10 strikeouts, while Krist raise his season batting average to .632 (12-for-19) by going 4-for-4 with a two-run homer and a solo homer.
