Arizona Slips Into Share of Fourth

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Arizona slipped into a tie for 4th place after the second round of the Bruin Wave Invitational, Tuesday afternoon at the Robinson Ranch Golf Club Valley Course.
The Wildcats shot 11-over par 299 as a team on the day and are now 6-over par, six shots behind tournament leader UCLA at even par. Arizona and in-state rival Arizona State share 4th place while Pepperdine and USC are 4-over through two days of play.
Freshman Sherlyn Popelka shot the low round for the Wildcats on the day, carding an even-par round of 72 to grab a share of 38th place at 7-over par. Isabelle Boineau shot 2-over 74 on Tuesday and is tied for 17th place at 3-over par through 36 holes.
Junior Alejandra Llaneza is tied for 5th place overall at 1-under par after shooting 75 on the day. Nikki Koller is tied with Boineau at 3-over par while Margarita Ramos is tied for 44th overall at 8-over par.
Stephanie Kono of UCLA shot 4-under 68 for the low round of the day and leads the tournament at 6-under par. First-round leader Danielle Kang of Pepperdine is one shot back after shooting even par on Tuesday while Molly Aronsson of Washington is two shots off the lead.
The Wildcats begin their final round of play on Wednesday, March 3 with Margarita Ramos heading up the team at the first hole at 8:24 a.m. (PT)
