Husky Men's Golf This Week

FRESNO, Calif. - The Washington Huskies are in Fresno, California this week playing in the Lexus Classic at the San Joaquin Country Club. Washington is ranked fifth in the latest Golfweek.com poll and is returning to action after a three-week layoff.
The tournament is a play-six count-five format and coach Matt Thurmond is bringing a lineup that includes senior All-Americans Nick Taylor, Darren Wallace and Richard Lee, plus fellow senior Chris Killmer, sophomore Jens Bracht and freshman Chris Williams.
Williams is coming off his first career collegiate win at the Battle of the Beach. The Huskies were second at the tournament.
This week's tournament is being played on Monday and Tuesday, with the golfers playing 36 holes tomorrow. Besides Washington, the other teams participating are BYU, Cal, Cal Poly, Fresno State, U.C. Irvine, Kansas State, Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, Pacific, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, San Diego and San Jose State.
PRUGH TIES FOR 35TH AT HONDA CLASSIC
Former Husky standout Alex Prugh shot a 3-over-par 73 in the final round of the Honda Classic on Sunday and finished tied for 35th. Prugh was 3-over 283 for the tournament (68-73-69-73) and took home $27,608 for his week's effort.
Prugh has already earned $612,854 this season and is 23rd in the Fed-Ex Cup Standings.
