Perez Named To Initial Athletica Roster

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Recent Washington graduate and women's soccer standout Veronica Perez has been named to the initial roster for the Saint Louis Athletica of Women's Professional Soccer, which officially begin their second training camp on Monday, March 8.

Perez and Athletica have already been on the field for one week with 22 players reporting early to camp, and the team has already been through six practice sessions and one scrimmage.

Under WPS rules teams may have 28 players on their roster as camp begins on March 8. On March 16 clubs are required to be down to 24 players and on April 1 final rosters of 18 active roster players, plus four developmental players are due. The following 26 players are on the Saint Louis Athletica roster as camp begins on Monday.

Saint Louis Athletica also announced their preseason exhibition schedule. Athletica will host one game at The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park on March 13 against the University of Illinois. Saint Louis will then play against Missouri at the University of Missouri on March 20. April 3 will see Athletica face off against the newcomers to the WPS, the Atlanta Beat, in a match in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
